The 19th century in Brussels: 1899

In 1899 Albert Claude, a Belgian biologist who shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1974 with Christian de Duve and George Emil Palade, was born. That same year, on March 6, Felix Hoffmann patents Aspirin and Bayer registers its name as a trademark.
