In my previous post on the war years 1914-1914 I was writing that, in spite of the conflict, life went on. As far as 1914 is concerned you could argue that some of the buildings that are marked with this very special year were completed before the invasion of Belgium by the German forces on 4 August 1914.
In this post I am adding one picture of a a sgraffito in façade of a house in a side street of Avenue Louis Lepoutre. The latter avenue is located in Ixelles. Here is a link to a page with information, in English, over Mr Lepoutre. It seems that he was a Franco-Belgian entrepreneur who, with Auguste Lepoutre (his brother?), established the company Lafayette Worsted in Rhode Island, USA.
